How Do All-On-6®
Dental Implants Work?
All-on-6® dental implants in NYC create a permanent arch of teeth secured in place with 6 implants that act as anchors. During the procedure, 6 titanium screws are precisely placed in the upper or lower jawbone. These screws imitate the tooth’s natural root, helping to prevent jawbone loss. When teeth are lost, they leave behind a hole in the jawbone. Over time, the bone in that area will begin to break down and become absorbed by the body, leaving patients with noticeable changes to their facial structure and causing major functional issues.
Once implanted in the jawbone, the implants will begin to fuse with the natural bone structure. This process, otherwise known as osseointegration, is what allows the implants to provide maximum support and stability and can take anywhere from 3-5 months to occur. After the implants have healed, a custom bridge will be created. This prosthesis is custom-made for each patient to create the best overall aesthetic and functional outcome.
